Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative Holiday Open House from 1:00 – 3:00pm during the Charles Town Christmas Parade. Join us for light refreshments and celebrate the start of the holidays in Charles Town – everyone is welcome! 108 N. George Street, Charles Town, WV.

November 29 and 30

The Shenandoah Potters Guild show and sale will be held at the War Memorial Building in Jim Barnett Park in Winchester, 1001 East Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601. Hours are 10-4 each day. Co-op member and potter Martha LeRoi will be participating.

November 28 and 29

We’ll be open for business Black Friday and Small Business Saturday – the really cool gifts are at the Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative! 108 N. George Street, Charles Town, WV.

October 11

The first Pit Fire at Craftworks will be held from 9am to 6pm.  This outdoor firing will be led by Co-op member Annette Verna and fellow artist/Craftworks Clay Community member Joy Bridy.  Pit fire is a primitive, low-temperature clay firing technique that produces color and smoke patterns on porous, unglazed pottery.  This firing is the first to be held in the Craftworks Pit and is part of the celebration of American Craft Week at Craftworks.

October 4

Mud, Water & Bling features the work of potter Martha LeRoi, watercolorist Jewell Hellems, and painted furniture/fabric artist Suzanne Ravgialla of the Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative.  Reception from 5pm – 7pm in the Fire Hall Gallery, 108 N. George Street, Charles Town.  Show runs through November 16.

October 2

The Second Annual Eastern West Virginia Juried Art Exhibit will open on October 2 at the Berkeley Art Works in Martinsburg.  Co-op artists Bruce Chandler (painting) and Joe Bourgeois (wood working) will be participating.  A reception for the artists will be Saturday, October 11 from 5-7pm in the gallery at 116 North Queen Street.  The Berkeley Art Works is open Thursday 11-5, Friday, 11-8, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-3. The exhibit will be on display through October 26.

Also October 2nd, Berkeley Art Works will present a selection of photographs from the March, 2014 Dance Works Festival.  Co-op artist, photographer Rip Smith found that the intensity of the workshops went beyond a simply recreational exercise and he decided to finish the images in black and white to concentrate the viewer’s attention on the creative work that was being done.  Additional images by Mary-Jo Bennett of the closing performance program are displayed in color.

April 26 – May 11, 2014

Co-op artist Virginia Winston will have two pieces on exhibit at Art at the Mill. Every spring and fall, the Burwell-Morgan Mill in the quaint village of Millwood, Virginia, becomes an extraordinary art gallery. Art at the Mill has become one of the premier art shows in the mid-Atlantic region. Visit the website

Virginia will also be featured in the Friday Painters’ show in the Shepherdstown Community Club during the Back Alley Tour, May 16, 17 and 18.

April 10 – May 4, 2014

Co-Op artists Joe Bourgeois and Earl Mills will be participating in the 4th annual juried exhibit, “Art and Earth: My Art – My world” at the Berkeley Art Works. Thirty-six works of art by 27 artists reflect the artist’s view of nature, the environment, or an Earth Day related theme.

Artists and WSAC Vice President Greg McNabb will be the featured artist in the AHA Fire Hall Art Gallery, 108 N. George Street, Charles Town, WV. “Into the Woods” will feature furniture and objects, as well as a new wall piece.

6:00 PM – Unveiling of “Sipping Sunshine” at the Jefferson County Community Center at Sam Michael’s Park. These wonderful murals were created by local artists Autumn Beckett and Brittany Grimes for the enjoyment of the community and to help create an atmosphere of warmth as well as capture the fun, vibrant feelings of community that are reflected in our parks and programs.

WSAC members Pat Langerhans and Nancy Streeter are participating in the Over The Mountain Studio Tour Summer Show and Sale.  The event features twenty-two exceptional West Virginia artisans for an exciting preview of the November Studio Tour.
